BMW 8-Series 2023 has just been launched in Vietnam with a modern design accompanied by new technology with the price of 6.899 billion VND.
In the event hold by Thaco in the evening of April 26th, the BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe luxury car was officially introduced in Vietnam. This model only has 1 version – BMW 840i Gran Coupe M Sport with a starting price of VND 6,899 billion. In Vietnam, this luxury 4-door coupe is a rival to the Porsche Panamera.
The BMW 840i Gran Coupe is one of three new versions of the 8 Series along with the Coupe and Convertible. The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe is not only luxurious in design, but also versatile and powerful in performance.
The new design style on the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe emphasizes sportiness with a blocky exterior surface and edgy lines running along the body. The new BMW 8 Series measures length x width x height of 5,082 x 1,932 x 1,407 mm respectively. The wheelbase is 3,023 mm, 201m longer than the Coupe version.
The car comes standard with the M Sport package, including a new front bumper, side bumpers, and 20-inch M wheels. The headlight system on the new 8 Series has a sharp and thin design and is equipped with ultra-bright Laserlight technology for a range of up to 600m. Along with that, the horizontal stylized L-shaped LED taillights also contribute to the appearance of the rear of the car.
The highlight on the bonnet of the 8 Series are the four embossed lines that make up the curved arch shape on the hood. In addition, the upgrade also features an Iconic Glow glowing grille.
The inside of the BMW 8-Series 2023 uses high-quality light-colored aluminum wood cladding. BMW Individual ceiling upholstered in Alcantara in Anthracite black, interior lights. The seats of the car are upholstered in luxurious Merino leather with power adjustment and position memory for the front seats. The rear seats can be folded flat in a ratio of 40:20:40 to expand the luggage compartment. Meanwhile, the M Sport interior package adds equipment such as an M steering wheel, M belts and M Sport door sill cladding to the car.
Similar to other BMW models, the new 8 Series Gran Coupe also features the BMW Live Cockpit Professional system, which includes a 12.3-inch high-resolution digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen. However, this system still uses the old BMW 7.0 operating system. The car’s central touchscreen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
In addition, the new BMW 8 Series comes standard with BMW Intelligent Voice Control, which can be activated with the command “Hey BMW”. It has 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with power of 464W for surround sound effect, iDrive Touch control knob and Swarovski crystal plated gear lever, navigation system, 2 USB ports, 4-zone automatic air conditioning, Panorama panoramic sunroof, trunk kick sensor as well as automatic locking/opening of doors when the driver approaches the vehicle.
The luggage compartment of the 8 Series has a volume of 440l and can be expanded by folding the rear seats flat in a ratio of 40:20:40 to accommodate many necessary items.
The BMW 840i M Sport Gran Coupe version has a 3.0L turbocharged, 6-cylinder engine, accompanied with an 8-speed automatic transmission for maximum power of 340 hp at 5,000 and 6,500 rpm, and maximum torque of 500 Nm at 1,600 to 4,500 rpm. The new BMW 8 Series can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.
BMW has used lightweight materials to reduce the weight of the new 8 Series Gran Coupe such as monolithic aluminum, magnesium and carbon fiber. In addition, the chassis technology on the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe is also fine-tuned to the standards of a sports racing car, contributing to improved performance.
The M adaptive sports suspension features prominently on the new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe. The M Sport rear differential and damping springs are also integrated to help the car operate smoothly and flexibly in all driving modes. The different operating modes displayed in the Driving Experience Control cluster on the center platform change the hard/soft settings of the dampers, providing a sportier or more comfortable driving experience. M Sport high-performance brakes come standard with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission for fast and precise gear changes.
Safety equipment is also the highlight of this luxury 4-door coupe. The vehicle features a range of advanced driver assistance technologies as standard such as Active Protection and Parking Assistant Plus with integrated 360-degree cameras.
In addition, the new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe is also equipped with other top-of-the-line comfort features such as the Comfort Access system which includes automatic opening and closing of the trunk with kicking of the foot towards the rear bumper, an electric opening and closing trunk and automatic locking/opening of doors when approaching the vehicle.
