Kia Niro EV 2022 has officially been released in the European market, particularly Sweden, at 495.900 SEK (~1.19 billion VND).

Kia officially unveiled the second-generation Niro in November last year for the Korean market. Similar to the previous edition, Kia Niro 2022 also has 3 versions: pure electric (EV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and hybrid (HEV). In particular, Kia Niro Hybrid 2022 was initially planned to sell in the Korean market.

However, it is not until now is the model released to the market. Unlike their plans, the first market to receive the all-electric version of this model is not South Korea, but Sweden.

True to previous information, Kia Niro EV 2022 is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum capacity of 201 horsepower 255 Nm in torque. Compared to the old generation, this electric SUV is reduced to 140 Nm while the maximum capacity remains unchanged. This motor combines with the same 64.8 kWh battery pack, allowing the car to reach a travel range of 463 km, an increase of only 9 km compared to the old generation. With the fast-charging system, users can increase the battery capacity from 10% to 80% in 43 minutes.

Compared to the hybrid version currently sold in Korea, the Kia Niro EV 2022 is also different in the exterior design. Accordingly, the car is equipped with an upper grille with a closed “tiger nose” design in glossy black. The lower grille is closed and smaller in size than the Kia Niro 2022 hybrid version. In addition, Kia Niro EV 2022 also has its own wheel design.

Meanwhile, the size and interior design of the Kia Niro EV 2022 have not changed compared to the hybrid version. The car shares dimensions of 4,420 x 1,825 x 1,545 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. Compared to the old generation, the car is 65mm longer, 20mm wider, 10mm taller, and the wheelbase has increased by 20mm.

The change in dimensions provides more interior space for this all-electric SUV. According to Kia, the new Niro EV has a luggage capacity of 495 liters if the rear seats are not folded down. In addition, the car also has a 20-liter luggage compartment under the hood.

In the Swedish market, Kia Niro EV 2022 has 3 versions: Action, Advance, and Advance Plus. Regardless of version, the car comes with a digital dashboard connected to the 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a reverse camera, and standard highway driving assistance system.

Meanwhile, the Advance version adds leather seats, air vents, Harman Kardon sound system, active blind spot detection system and electric tailgate. The Advance Plus alone adds features such as a windshield information display, remote control parking and wireless smartphone charging.

The price of Kia Niro EV 2022 in the Swedish market starts from 495,900 SEK (about 1.19 billion VND).
