Volkswagen T-cross is a B-class German CUV imported from India. The model will be sold under 2 versions at 1.1 billion and 1.3 billion, respectively.

Volkswagen genuine distributors in Vietnam had started receiving orders for the VW T-Cross model since mid-March but had not disclosed the specific price. Meanwhile, other dealers of the brand have quoted T-Cross prices for customers from more than one billion VND. Some places even announced the expected price for two versions of the car, including Elegance 1.1 billion and Luxury 1.3 billion.

A representative from the company said that the delivery time of the Volkswagen T-Cross is expected to be around May and June. T-Cross is positioned by the distributor to compete with rivals such as Peugeot 2008 – priced at VND 769-849 million, and BMW X1 – priced at VND 1,859 billion.

If the official price of the car is similar to the dealer’s comments, T-Cross is considered by the company to be a more advanced product than the French car, but one level below the German luxury rival. The highest selling price of 1.3 billion VND (as informed by dealers) of T-Cross is about 400 million VND lower than the standard version of Volkswagen’s C-sized CUV model, Tiguan.

Volkswagen Vietnam representative has confirmed, T-Cross will have two versions of Elegance and Luxury, sharing the same 1-liter turbocharged engine, producing 115 horsepower, and a maximum torque of 178 Nm. The powertrain mates to a 6-speed automatic transmission. In India, where the B-sized CUV model is imported and named Taigun, the car has an additional option of a 1.5-liter TSI engine with 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.

The company has not specified the difference in equipment between the two versions. Particularly, the Luxury version has 17-inch wheels and a sunroof. This model will offer 6 exterior colors to choose from: yellow, red, gray, white, blue, and silver.
