Ducati recorded double-digit growth in all of the motorcycle maker’s key markets, including the US, where sales jumped by a staggering 33.5%.

Growth is certainly fueled by the Ducati Multistrada V4 model, which accounts for nearly a fifth of Ducati sales in 2021.

Thanks to the new results, the US has now regained its title as Ducati’s top market, with 9,007 units sold in 2021. The US overtook Italy for the title, where 8,707 units were sold.

Driving sales in the US is Ducati Newport dealer, becoming the first US dealer to surpass 300 units sold in just one year. Canada also achieved a similar record, with Ducati Montreal dealer being the first Canadian dealer to sell more than 200 units. Other notable markets for Ducati include Germany with 6,107 units (+11%); China with 4,901 units (+21%); France with 4,352 units (+12%); and the UK with 2,941 units (+30%).

Francesco Milicia, Global Vice President of Sales and After-sales of Ducati said: “With 59,447 motorcycles delivered to customers, Ducati has recorded a historic result and once again confirms its solidity despite difficulties encountered across all sectors due to supply crisis. Sales have grown by double digits in all major countries, from the US to Australia, where new subsidiaries had reached a 50% increase. The results were of extraordinary work aimed at continual improvement of the global sales network both quantitatively, with 84 new dealers, and qualitatively focused on the digitization of processes and channels”.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 series accounts for a large portion of 2021 sales with 9,957 units sold, representing about 17% of Ducati’s total sales last year. That number eclipses the worldwide sales of the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 and reaffirms Multistrada V4 as the best ADV model on the current market.

Although Ducati did not provide a full breakdown of its segment sales, Borgo Panigale did reveal that the Scrambler 800 series accounted for 9,059 units and the Monster line sold 8,734 units. Based on that momentum, strong sales can be expected in 2022 from Ducati, especially as the updated Ducati DesertX and Ducati Panigale V4 hit dealers.

The biggest future challenge for the Italian brand will be meeting customer demand, as the pandemic continues to strain supply chains.
