Entering Lunar July, prices of Honda Vision show signs of decreasing

07 Aug 2022

The price of Vision scooters, although reduced, is still significantly different from the suggested retail price.

In the past few months, Honda Vision in particular and the prices of Honda motorcycles in general have been in a state of inflation due to the scarcity of supply from the manufacturer. This is a consequence of the Covid-19 breaking the global supply chain, leading to a shortage of input materials for production.

During the beginning of July, the actual price of Honda Vision at dealerships was always higher than the suggested retail price. Specifically, the standard Vision is being offered for sale at 47.55 million VND, a difference of 17 million VND compared to the proposed price; Premium version is currently priced at 49.2 million VND, 17.5 million VND different compared to the proposal; Special Vision is priced at 50.2 million VND, 17 million VND in difference; Personality version alone still has the highest selling price at 54 million VND, which is 19 million VND higher than the suggested retail price.

However, when entering the July lunar calendar (from July 29th), the price of Vision scooters has shown signs of cooling down. The reason is that this lunar month is the time when consumers limit their shopping as a way of avoiding bad luck. At the same time, dealers can also import goods, making their supply more stable.

According to a survey at some dealers, the price of Vision models has now decreased by about 2 – 3 million VND depending on version. In which, Honda Vision Premium is priced at 48 million VND, down by 2 million VND but is still about 15 million VND different compared to the proposed price. On the other hand, Honda Vision Personality is being offered for sale at VND 51 million, down by VND 3 million compared to before, still higher by 16 million VND.

In addition, Honda Vietnam has also announced information about increasing the number of domestic scooter models from July, helping to partially overcome the shortage of available inventory in recent months.
