Ford F-100 Eluminator – A classic pickup that transforms an electric car with the power of a Mustang Mach-E

04 Nov 2021

Ford F-100 Eluminator is a very interesting concept that the American car manufacturer introduced to the public at the SEMA Show 2021.

The age of all-electric vehicles is opening up countless exciting possibilities for the world’s vehicle manufacturers, especially those looking to do something different during this transition. Ford did just that at the SEMA Show 2021 when it introduced the F-100 Eluminator concept, a zero-emissions pickup based on the classic 1978 F-100. It was equipped with an electric motor block from Ford Performance Parts that people can buy right now.

The F-100 Eluminator was born in partnership with MLe Racecars and runs on a custom-built chassis developed by the Roadster Shop. It has an AWD system thanks to the same two electric motor systems as the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition 2021. That means a total capacity of 480 horsepower and maximum torque of 860 Nm. Unfortunately, Ford does not disclose information about performance, battery capacity, and range.

Avalanche Gray paint with Cerakote Copper accents complements the exterior, while the interior receives an aluminum dash from JJR Fabrication. Opening the bonnet reveals the powertrain under a transparent panel. A small space in front has a bag and a diagram of how to charge the truck. In addition, this unique pickup also installs classic 19-inch aluminum three-piece wheels wrapped in high-performance Michelin Latitude Sport tires.

Inside, the seats are upholstered in dark leather with color stripes to match the exterior. The dashboard is now essentially a widescreen, and its massive infotainment screen looks exactly like that of the Ford Mustang Mach-E. In addition, the new center console also has a modern gearshift knob.

Eric Cin, Ford’s global director of vehicle personalization and accessories, said: “The F-100 Eluminator concept is a preview of how we support our customers as they go fully electric and accept zero emissions, even for Ford heritage cars.”
