Better-selling products such as Honda Vision and Sh mode are being sold with price differences of several million VND compared to listed.

As Honda’s most popular model in the Vietnamese market, Vision has long been in a state of inflation. After Lunar New Year, this line continues to be offered by dealers at higher prices than the company’s proposal. Specifically at HEADs, Vision sells from 32.3 million to 39 million VND.

Compared to the suggested rate, Vision inflates from 1 million to 2.5 million VND. The most drastic difference of the year is the Sports version, launched last December.

In January, this product line had a time of cooling down when some versions were offered for sale at the right price. Its Special version at the time even sold for 800,000 VND lower than listed.

Besides Honda Vision, mid-range scooters SH mode also bears the price difference at dealerships. The Sports version of this scooter is quoted by HEAD for 71 million VND, while the listing from the manufacturer is 64.39 million VND. Premium and Special versions are priced at 67 and VND 68 million, higher than the proposed by 4.21 million and 4 million VND, respectively. However, Standard version may sell below the proposed price.

According to the announcement from the General Statistics Office, the industrial production index of the motorcycle and motorbike industry decreased in January. Specifically, the number of motorcycles produced in January reached more than 228,000 units, a decrease of about 35.5% compared to December 2022 and down by about 32.1% over the same period last year.

Motorcycles have remained the main vehicle in the Vietnamese market for years. In 2022, the whole market will consume more than 3 million units, an increase of about 20.5% compared to the previous year, equivalent to a rate of about 8,000 units per day. For many years, the increase in the price compared to proposal was due to limited supply.
