The South Korean automaker has recently announced that it will increase the warranty period for more than 1.21 million vehicles all over the world to support owners who may have difficulty in maintaining and repairing vehicles during Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the latest announcement from Hyundai, the company will extend the warranty period for 3 months for all models if the warranty expires in the period from March to June 2020. The extended warranty is applied for more than 1.21 million Hyundai vehicles in 175 countries.

Mr. Wonhong Cho, Vice President of Hyundai Motor, said: “We are aware that many of our customers will find it difficult to maintain and repair vehicles in the midst of a pandemic”.

“With the extended warranty period, we want to give customers peace of mind to bring their cars for maintenance and repair in the coming months. We not only care about the health and safety of our customers, but we also pay special attention to the health and safety of their cars, Mr. Wonhong Cho said.

In the US, Hyundai said that although many showrooms were closed due to the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic, most service departments have continued to work. The South Korean automaker also applies a new policy that allows customers to use electronic signatures when repairing a car instead of having to sign it directly as usual.

Previously, Hyundai and Genesis announced that they would support the first 6 months of rent/installments for unfortunate customers who were unemployed in the context that Covid-19 pandemic is becoming concerned by users all over the world. The generous incentive program of the Korean car company has been enthusiastically supported and applauded by users in North American market.
