Maserati has recently presented the MC20 Cielo, a convertible version of the MC20 Coupe. The roof is made of two glass panels. In Italian, “Cielo” means sky. The roof opens/closes electronically in 12 seconds. This roof can be changed from clear to translucent at the touch of a button through the entertainment screen. The roof design does not affect the vehicle’s aerodynamics and torsional stiffness, according to Maserati.

After the roof is retracted and kept on a panel of the rear engine compartment cover, it is impossible to see the 3.0 V6 engine block like on the coupe version. The trident logo on the engine cover is made of matte titanium. Compared to the coupe version, the convertible version weighs 65 kg more, equivalent to a weight of 1,540 kg.

MC20 Cielo is equipped with the same engine as the coupe, a twin-turbo 3.0 V6 engine, with a capacity of 621 horsepower at 7,500 rpm, maximum torque of 730 Nm from 3,000 rpm. The engine applies F1 technology: 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, rear-wheel drive.

According to the test results, the time to accelerate from 0-100 km/h is 3 seconds and to 200 km/h is 9.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 320 km/h, while the coupe version reaches 325 km/h.

The MX20 Cielo is a sports car with a mid-class engine. Thanks to which, the front storage compartment has a capacity of 50 liters and the rear compartment is 100 liters. The convertible shares many technologies with the coupe. The alloy wheels come with Roman numeral-themed motifs, optional carbon rims.

The Italian automaker installed a digital dashboard behind the steering wheel, the interface displays 5 driving modes, and a touch screen for the infotainment system. Maserati’s Fuoriserie Personalization Pack offers three coats of Acquamarina in light blue.

As planned, Maserati MC20 Cielo will be sold from the end of the year, limited to 60 units worldwide. The price is about $230,000 according to Carscoops. The car competes with the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.
