Compared to the standard EQS version, Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 gives better performance and comes with multiple sporty equipment.

Mercedes-Benz has officially launched its most advanced electric luxury sedan, Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+. The model’s total capacity goes as high as 751 horsepower when equipped with the Dynamic Plus package.

According to information published by the German automaker, EQS 53 is equipped with two AMG electric motors, capable of delivering 649 horsepower and 950 Nm of torque. With the addition of Dynamic Plus performance upgrade package, the sedan has a power of up to 751 hp and 1,020 Nm. However, the car can only perform at said level in its Race Start operating mode.

This helps the car accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, faster than the 3.8 seconds of the standard EQS. Its maximum speed is limited to 250 km/h, while the standard version is limited to 220 km/h.

Powering the vehicle’s two electric motors is a 400V 107.8 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. According to Mercedes, this battery pack will help EQS 53 operate in 526 – 580 km. Regarding the EQS with a range of 770 km, the EQS 53 has a shorter range but this is of little concerna as the EQS 53 itself is a high-performance electric vehicle and weighs over 2.6 tons.

Given info suggests that Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ is an RWD model with a special setup and layout. This helps the car operate flexibly and has small turning radius. In addition, the AMG Ride Control+ adaptive air suspension system is available so as to improve handling and driving experience.

As a high-performance version, EQS 53 luxury sedan is equipped with AMG brake complex with 415 mm brake discs with 6-piston brake calipers in front, and a 378 mm disc with 1-piston brake calipers in the rear. Users may upgrade the car’s brake system to 440 mm AMG ceramic brake discs for the front.

Thanks to its full-electric powertrain, the EQS 53 operates smoothly and quietly. Therefore, Mercedes has equipped the car with the AMG Sound Experience simulator. This audio system will reproduce the operating sound of the vehicle through the speakers inside the cockpit as well as outside the vehicle. The driver can choose from different sound modes such as Balanced, Sport, and Powerful.

In terms of design, the AMG-equipped version of the EQS will have sporty bumpers in both front and rear that are typical of AMG models. However, the AMG EQS 53 is different thanks to the vertical spokes on the glossy chrome grille, large rear spoiler, and 21 or 22-inch alloy wheels with Aero or Heritage design. Further upgrades include equipment packages such as AMG Night Package Dark Chrome, AMG Carbon, or red brake calipers.

Stepping into the cockpit, Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ comes with a signature Hyperscreen control panel. The car’s infotainment center uses MBUX operating system and interface with screens and special features for the driver. Special sporty highlights include:

  • AMG seats upholstered in artificial Artico leather with an upgrade option of Nappa leather
  • Beveled AMG steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather
  • Aluminum paddle shifters
  • Embroidered threads
  • many more…

Currently, Mercedes has not announced the price for this model. Information on this will be available before the car’s official release in the market in early 2022.
