After the EQS SUV, Mercedes-Benz continues to introduce the EQE SUV mid-size electric SUV with many notable equipment.
After introducing the leading electric SUV EQS SUV in April 2022, Mercedes-Benz continues to supplement this radical product line with the all-new EQE SUV. The German automaker has almost completed its electric SUV product chain, including EQA, EQB, EQC, EQE, and EQS, aside from 2 electric sedans EQE, EQS, and EQV electric MPV.
In this launch, Mercedes-Benz introduces 5 versions of EQE, including 3 standard versions EQE 350+, EQE 350 4MATIC, and EQE 500 4MATIC.
Two high-performance versions from the Mercedes-AMG division include EQE 43 4MATIC and EQE 53 4MATIC+, which have improved many points in terms of design and performance.
Mercedes-Benz EQE has an overall size of 4,863 x 1,940 x 1,686 mm, a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. Due to the shorter wheelbase, interior space is also affected: standard and folded luggage volumes are 520L and 1,675L. EQE SUV shares many aerodynamic designs with other cousins such as flat windshield, aerodynamic wheels, and underbody panels. Cd air resistance index is only 0.25.
The option of Digital Light allows for warning signs projection on the road surface to pedestrians and oncoming traffic.
The AMG sports version has a sportier design with a grille emulating the typical Panamericana design, wider front bumper air cavity…
EQE SUV is equipped with the MBUX Hyperscreen, which includes 3 seamless edge-to-edge screens with sizes up to 56 inches. There are many features such as software update via OTA protocol, Intelligent Park Pilot, cruise navigation according to battery capacity…
The standard version EQE 350+ has only a 292 hp electric motor at the rear axle. Meanwhile, EQE 350 4MATIC and EQE 500 4MATIC have 2 electric motors at the front and rear axles, producing 292 hp and 408 hp, respectively.
For those with 4MATIC, the front axle can automatically stop working at low load to save battery capacity. Rear wheel steering is optional.
All versions are equipped with a 90.6 kWh electric battery pack, which is also being used on the sedan variant. This part is warranted for a maximum distance of 250,000 km or a maximum period of 10 years. The battery can charge quickly with a maximum capacity of 170 kW. The car can travel a maximum distance of 220 km after just 15 minutes of charging with DC power.
EQE 350+, EQE 350 4MATIC, and EQE 500 4MATIC are respectively capable of traveling up to 480–590 km, 459–558 km and 460–547 km, respectively. Meanwhile, EQE 43 4MATIC has a capacity of up to 476 horsepower and 858 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, before reaching a maximum speed of 210 km/h.
This figure on the EQE 53 model is 626 hp and 950 Nm of torque, respectively. Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is reduced to 3.5 seconds, before reaching a maximum speed of 220 km/h.
With the AMG Dynamic Plus upgrade package, the “Race Start” and “Boost” driving modes will help the car reach a maximum capacity of 687 horsepower and maximum torque of 1,000 Nm.
Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is shortened to 3.5 seconds, before the EQE 53 4MATIC+ hits a speed limit of 240 km/h.
EQE SUV’s sound system can simulate natural sounds to help the driver relax or emit the exciting sound of an internal combustion engine.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV will be assembled at the Tuscaloosa, Alabama (USA) factory, next to the EQS SUV model. Production will start in December 2022. The automaker also plans to build a battery plant in Bibb, Alabama. The official price of EQE SUV will be announced by Mercedes-Benz next month.
