In December, many models from Honda and Yamaha, instead of increasing prices like previous years, now turned to reducing prices.

VietNamNet’s record at some HEADs in Hanoi shows that popular scooter models such as Honda SH and SH Mode are still inflated from the original price but have now been adjusted down from 400,000 VND to 2 million VND. (Depending on version) compared to the previous month.

Specifically, the standard Honda SH Mode CBS costs VND 64.2 million, which is inflated by VND 8 million, but down about VND 1.4 million compared to the previous month. High-end ABS version is offered for sale at 75 million VND, down by 1 million VND (still 14 million VND difference compared to the listed price).

Honda SH decreased by 1-2 million VND compared to October. In which, SH version 125 CBS cost 91 million VND (higher than listed price of 19 million VND); SH 150i 2022 CBS is priced at 107 million VND (nearly 18 million VND higher than the original price), SH 150i 2022 ABS is at 123 million (higher than the proposed price to 24.7 million VND).

Not only SH, the most popular scooter line in the Vietnamese market, Honda Vision 2022, is also discounting. Versions of Vision have actual selling prices ranging from 34-38.5 million VND, down by 500,000-2 million VND compared to the second half of November 2022, and only inflated between 3.8 million and 4.7 million compared to the listed price.

In contrast to Honda scooters, cub models are falling below the suggested price.

Most notably, the Honda Winner X clutch is on the verge of a sharp decrease of 500,000 to 1 million VND compared to the end of November, bringing the actual selling price down to 15 million VND lower than the proposed price (46.09 – 50.4 million VND). Specifically, Winner X standard version costs 33-33.5 million VND, special version costs 34-35 million VND, sports version ranges from 34.5-35 million VND.

To stimulate demand, dealers also give high-value gifts to customers who buy Honda Winner X.

Similarly, other Honda digital models such as Wave Alpha, Blade, RSX or Future also decreased from 500,000 to 1 million VND compared to the second half of November.

Not only Honda, but Yamaha motorcycle models are also heavily discounted. Only a month ago, Yamaha Grande was still inflated, but it has now been adjusted to 40.5-49 million VND, lower than the listed price (41.99-50.5 million VND).

High-end scooter model, Yamaha NVX is also selling at a lower actual price than listed from 500,000 to 1 million VND.

Yamaha Exciter 155 VVA is currently priced from 44.2-49 million VND, 3 million VND lower than the list price (47.29-52.19 million VND), and buyers also receive attractive promotions such as: support for registration fee of 2 million VND and gifts worth up to 2 million VND.

According to a recent report by the General Statistics Office, in November, the whole country was estimated to have 360.9 thousand motorcycles shipped. This is the month with the highest new motorcycle production since the beginning of the year, up by 13.1% compared to October (319.2 thousand units) and up by 32.4% over the same period in 2021.

Compared to previous years, the price of model was blown up sharply, the current price reduction may come from the increased supply, while people’s demand is affected by rising bank interest rates, real estate decline, and exports are affected by the economic downturn.
