After Honda, Yamaha also established their own genuine distribution system for high-capacity motorcycles to compete against Honda Bigbike in Vietnam.

Recently, Yamaha has officially separated the distribution system of large displacement motorcycles in Vietnam with the launch of the genuine Revzone Yamaha Motor system. According to the manufacturer, their top goal is to increase the presence of Revzone Yamaha Motor throughout the country, especially in the Ho Chi Minh city.

Business will focus on large displacement bikes and existing sports models. Specifically, 400cc-and-over products will be imported CBU from Japan, while those under 400cc are imported from Indonesia. In addition, products such as apparel, protective gear, accessories, and genuine parts are also available, along with professional repair and maintenance services.

The first dealer of the system named Revzone Yamaha Motor Saigon is a 3S-dealer (Sales, Service, Spare Parts), which is expected to officially launch in March 2022. The first products to be sold here are 4 models of large displacement motorcycles: MT-09, MT-10 and MT-10 SP and sportsbike YZF-R7.

MT-09 is equipped with a completely new 3-cylinder crossplane engine, with a maximum capacity of 119 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 93 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

On the other hand, the MT-10 and MT-10 SP duo owns a crossplane engine block from the famous sportsbike YZF-R1 with a few tweaks, giving a wider torque range of 112 Nm at 9,000 rpm. This gives a maximum capacity of 160 horsepower. This power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a 6-speed gearbox with Quickshifter technology.

Yamaha is the next Japanese motorcycle manufacturer to separate the genuine distribution system of large displacement motorcycles from the regular motorcycle system in Vietnam. Previously, Honda has done this with their Honda Bigbike system back in 2018. The brand now has 2 dealers in Ho Chi Minh City and 1 in Hanoi.
