The new Volvo XC90 T8 will have almost the same features as the T6, except for the engine.

As expected, Volvo Vietnam will launch two new XC90 and S60 models on October 30. In particular, the S60 is a completely new model, brought home for the first time. The XC90 remains the existing model, but with a new version, the T8 Inscription. Currently, this model has 2 versions, T6 Inscription and T8 Excellence.

The name T8 shows that the new XC90 edition has a hybrid engine, similar to the T8 Excellence version previously released. This engine combines a 2-liter gasoline engine and electric motor and lithium-ion battery for a total capacity of about 400 HP and 640 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and system, all-wheel drive. If it is the same as the T8 Excellence version, T8 Inscription can be charged from household’s electric system.

Meanwhile, the current T6 Inscription is using a 2-liter petrol engine, 320 HP in capacity and 400 Nm of torque.

Specific equipment on the Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription has not been revealed. Most likely, the main equipment on the XC90 T6 Inscription will be carried over to T8 Inscription, such as full LED front/rear lights, 7 spoke rims, Nappa leather upholstery with integrated power adjustment and ventilation, digital clock, large 9-inch center vertical display, 19-speaker Bower & Wilkins audio, large sunroof, hands-free trunk opening …

With Volvo, every model has the full range of modern safety technologies. The T8 Inscription version of XC90 will be no exception when it comes with integrated blind spot warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive automatic throttle, automatic brake assist, sign recognition, 360-degree camera, and semi-automatic steering system.

It is possible that this Volvo XC90 is imported from Malaysia, not Europe. Volvo models recently sold in Vietnam were installed in Malaysia. Therefore, the car price is expected to be affordable. XC90 T6 Inscription currently has a listed price of 3.99 billion.

Volvo XC90 is located in the same segment as the BMW X5 or Mercedes-Benz GLE. Only Volvo makes plug-in hybrids in this segment in Vietnam while rivals use a mild hybrid engine.
