According to Motor1, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS 2022 will be the fastest and most powerful model in the Cayman family.

After revelations, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is finally officially launched. Porsche’s high-performance car completes a lap of the Nürburgring in just 7 minutes and 4.5 seconds thanks to its superb engine block inherited from the Porsche 911 GT3.

With the achievement at the Nürburgring, the model is 24 seconds faster than its predecessor 718 Cayman GT4 and only a few seconds slower than the Porsche 911 GT3. The new GT4 RS version also has a lowered center of mass with an enhanced suspension, tweaked dampers, and springs to suit racing. The body connection points also use a high-precision ball joint, along with a central locking wheel system, a first on a Cayman.

In addition, to improve the engine’s ventilation, the Cayman GT4 RS has also redesigned the air intakes on the side of the door, as well as the diffuser to the sides at front of the car. If you upgrade to the optional Weissach Package, the car will have some more details using carbon fiber. Cayman-loving customers can also purchase a Porsche Design watch inspired by the model’s style and performance.

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is also optimized for aerodynamics with a spoiler system that can be adjusted front and back. The most prominent is the fixed rear spoiler that is different from las gen’s GT4. The underbody is also optimized for better airflow. The front diffuser can be adjusted to 4 modes, while the rear spoiler also has 3 customizable modes. In racing mode, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS also improves compression by 25% compared to its predecessor GT4.

In addition to the superior engine block, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS also lost an additional 49 pounds (about 22 kg) in its own weight, thanks to the replacement of some carbon parts such as the front fenders and reinforced plastic hood. Window and rear glass also use lightweight types. As a result, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS’s own mass is only 1,464 kg, and the mass/power ratio reaches 2.9 kg/hp.

The car is equipped with the famous 6-cylinder engine block (Boxer), with a capacity of 4.0L, naturally aspirated, for a capacity of 493 horsepower and maximum torque of 449 Nm. GT4 RS can accelerate from 0 – 96 km/h in 3.2 seconds, before reaching up to 315 km/h. In addition to reducing weight, Cayman GT4 RS is also equipped with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel or via a joystick on the center pedestal.

Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS 2022 will be available in the US next summer. Comes with a starting price of the latest high-performance Porsche model from 141,700 USD, equivalent to more than 3.2 billion VND.
