The Porsche Vision Renndienst is an all-electric van with a futuristic interior design and a seating layout unlike any other.

After revealing to the public the secret concept of electric van Porsche Vision Renndienst in November 2020, the German brand has now released interior photos of this futuristic car. The car interior has 6 seats, but employs an unusual layout.

The driver gets a front-center seating position that looks out over the curved windshield. Although equipped with a digital display, it still displays 5 round gauges like traditional Porsches. Haptic tactile buttons occupy both sides of the dashboard. The driver’s seat can also be rotated 180 degrees so that the driver can easily communicate with the rear passengers.

Those sitting in the second row will have separate seats. The seats are skewed to the left and right so that everyone has a good view out of the windshield. This design also creates a large space in the middle for easier access to the third row of seats.

The asymmetrical window layout means that the person on the left bears a more limitted vision to the outside. However, the person sitting on the right has an openable window. The third row is a bench for 3 people. The new model is equipped with a floating headrest so that the driver can still look out the rear window when the back seats are vacant.

“We’ve been thinking about how we can still bring Porsche flair to a passenger compartment that’s far from a classic sports car interior, and how we would set up the auto-driving” – Director of Design Michael Mauer.

Porsche, of course, has no intention of putting the Vision Renndienst concept into commercial production. It is simply a design exercise to imagine what is possible.

Porsche built the Vision Renndienst in 2018 but will not introduce it to the public until 2020. It is part of 15 unique designs that were never published between 2005 and 2019 that debuted in a book called Porsche Unseen.
