Honda Vietnam’s latest press release states that some of its scooter models will have limited supply due to disruptions in the global supply chain.

Recently, Honda Vietnam has just released a press release about the situation that Honda motorcycles may be in short supply in the near future. Accordingly, Honda informed that the reason for this situation is because the global supply chain is being disrupted, affecting the production and supply process. Text of the announcement is as follows:

“Honda Vietnam Company (HVN) announces the impact of the supply chain on the severe unavailability of some scooter models for the domestic market.

In the context of global economic and political fluctuations, including strict Covid-19 control policies in export markets, the global supply chain is being disrupted, leading to negative impacts on the global economy, consequently affecting global the production and supply process of many products, including the Automotive – Motorcycle industry. In Vietnam, HVN is not an exception.

Faced with this situation, we would like to inform about the limited supply of some locally produced scooter models.

Currently, we are trying to take many measures to overcome supply chain disruptions and do our best to meet market demand.

We hope to receive your understanding and support in the current situation.”

Thus, some scooter models produced and distributed in the domestic market may be in short supply in the near future. Although not detailing which models, it is likely that Honda’s hottest scooters such as Vision, Air Blade, or SH will likely be heavily affected.

Currently, the price of Honda products at dealers are being inflated. A series of clutch and scooters model are priced from 3 to over 20 million VND higher compared to the listed prices, depending on the region and version. Particularly, only Honda Winner X is receiving incentives, so the price is lower than suggested.
