REVEALED THE DETAILED DESIGN OF THE NEW VINFAST CAR THAT HAS JUST BEEN UNDERGONE TEST DRIVE IN VIETNAM: THE SUV IS AS BIG AS THE HONDA CR-V AND HAS 2 ENGINE OPTIONS INCLUDING PETROL AND ELECTRIC (14/12/2020)

This new SUV model of VinFast has been copyrighted for about 4 months and is expected to be a “masterpiece” of 2021.

In recent months, VinFast has registered industrial ownership of a series of car products in Vietnam. Most recently, the Vietnamese car company has registered 11 new car models. Previously, VinFast also registered a few more models. However, the highlight is that 2 models are registered with 3D images like the real cars.

It can be seen that these 2 models have almost identical designs. The most obvious difference is the grille. One has a large grille while the other does not. Most likely, both have the same model but there is a version using an internal combustion engine (with a grille) and the other using an electric one (without a grille). The one without the grille also has a lid in the engine bay, possibly in a charging area.

Previously, an SUV model of VinFast was caught to be taken on a test drive on the road with a careful camouflage. The most remarkable thing is that this model has the same design as the two copyrighted cars mentioned above. Based on the navigation lights, tail lights, the ridges and many curved details in the front and back on the camouflage of the car, it can be seen that the registered 3D model is almost certainly this test vehicle.

According to information previously revealed by VinFast, the test car was an SUV with a slightly larger size than the C-class, equipped with an electric engine. This model is designed by Pininfarina – the studio which created designs for 2 models Lux A2.0 and Lux SA2.0. The electric engine on the SUV model can have a capacity of about 470 horsepower, travel about 500 km after a charge. Another version uses a BMW gasoline engine, which is smaller than the 2-liter machine installed on Lux A2.0 and Lux SA2.0.

The copyrighted design has revealed more details than the test car camouflaged on the road. This model has a long LED position lamp and the tail light is quite similar to Lux SA2.0. The front and rear bumper have more elegant details. Vehicle design is less rough than Lux SA2.0, and tends to be youthful and sporty. On the roof of the car, there is a panoramic sunroof – a detail that Lux SA2.0 does not have.

If it is in the C segment, this new VinFast model will compete with Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Mitsubishi Outlander and even the upcoming new generation Nissan X-Trail. This is the SUV / crossover segment with the best sales in the market. However, with VinFast’s positioning, it is possible that this model is only similar to the C-class size but ambitious to compete against premium cars.

The car will be continuously taken on the test drive and refined until it is perfect enough for VinFast to launch in US. VinFast’s original plan was to bring the car to the Los Angeles exhibition this year, but the epidemic caused the exhibition to be canceled. It is not clear about the plan to launch this model in the near future.

About a month ago, a document leaked from VinFast showed plans to launch 3 completely new models in segments C, D and E, including electric cars and internal combustion engine vehicles, in 2021. Most likely, the car mentioned above is in the C class in that plan.
