The test version of 2022 Kia Cerato has just been caught in Korea.

Based on the images posted by ClubStinger, the new Kia Cerato (also known as Forte) has a design inspired by the new K5 / Optima despite many details obscured by the camouflage layer. The front has a headlight and an improved radiator decorated with red panels like the current GT version. The 17-inch wheels and taillights are also different from the version available in the market now.

The new Cerato’s interior promises to use a central touch screen with a minimum size of 8 inches and maximum of up to 10.25 with a digital dashboard.

Underneath the Cerato engine compartment promises certain changes, most likely the 1.5 T-GDI or the improved 1.6 Turbo. Furthermore, Kia can also use the high-performance engine for a sporty GT. The gearbox will have an optional IMT smart manual gearbox (available in 2 configurations with or without clutch)

Based on the information on the new Cerato, it is difficult for the car to receive a large-scale facelift update like the Hyundai Grandeur or Santa Fe recently. The expected launch date of the new Cerato falls in the second quarter of 2021.
