Unstable supply caused the number of Honda cars and motorbikes sold to Vietnam market in October 2022 to decrease compared to the previous month.

Honda Vietnam Company (HVN) has just announced the sales of October 2022. The results are aggregated by Honda Authorized Service and Sales Stores/Honda Automobile Distributors delivered to customers and according to HVN’s estimates.

In the motorbike business, the number of vehicles sold in October 2022 reached 243,536 vehicles, down 2.6% from the previous month and up 44.2% over the same period last year. In the fiscal year of 2023, there were 1,344,137 Honda motorcycles sold in the Vietnamese market, recording an increase of 33.8% over the same period last year.

In particular, Wave Alpha continues to be the best-selling model of the month with sales of 38,409 vehicles, accounting for 15.8% of HVN’s total motorcycle sales in October 2022.

Vision is still the scooter model with the best sales with 68,608 units, accounting for 28.2% of HVN’s total motorcycle sales in October 2022. Finally, Winner X is the model that has been bought by the most users with sales reaching 10,184 vehicles, accounting for 4.2% of HVN’s total motorcycle sales in October 2022.

In the auto business segment, in October, HVN sold 1,744 vehicles, down 11.5% from the previous month, up 32.3% over the same period last year. In the fiscal year of 2023, there were 17,682 Honda cars sold in the Vietnamese market, recording an increase of 104.8% over the same period last year.

In which, City is the most popular car model, with 865 cars sold, accounting for 49.6% of HVN’s total car sales in October 2022. In the new generation, Honda City has overcome the aesthetic problems, the car design looks sportier and more youthful. Along with that, the new generation interior is also designed by the Japanese automaker to be more spacious and add more technology and equipment. Especially, the appearance of the RS sport version has helped Honda City affirm its position in the Vietnamese automobile market in recent years.

Although Honda City cannot compare with rivals in the same B-segment sedan segment such as Toyota Vios or Hyundai Accent, the above sales results are still quite impressive.

Followed by CR-V with 478 cars sold, accounting for 27.4% of total car sales of HVN in October 2022.

Thus, two models, Honda City and CR-V, have played the role of “carrying” Honda’s sales in Vietnam in October. The remaining sales of 401 vehicles were divided equally among other products such as Honda HR-V, Accord and Civic.
