Supercar McLaren Artura released in Vietnam under 4 versions starting at 16 billion VND

As announced by the British supercar brand, McLaren Artura is the pioneer to launch a future where electrification technology becomes the focus of hybrid development.

On March 29, McLaren Vietnam has officially launched the high-performance hybrid car Artura. It is not surprising as this information has previously been announced by the brand. According to the distributor, the hybrid supercar model with no reverse gear will be launched in the Vietnamese market with 4 versions, starting at 15.9 billion VND.

As given, McLaren Artura is the pioneer to launch a future where electrification technology becomes the focus of hybrid development. The internal combustion engine combined with the electric motor adds power to bring a total capacity of 670 horsepower to this model. With the frame weighs only 1,496 kg, this allows Artura to accelerate from 0-100 km/h within 3 seconds.

For comparison, the Artura is lighter in weight than Lamborghini Aventador, although the British supercar carries a large battery system as well as an attached electric motor. In pure electric mode, the car can run 30 km while in dual operation of both engines. Fuel efficiency of the car reaches 12.4 liters per 100 km – not bad for a supercar.

Another interesting factor on the Artura is that McLaren wants the car to shift gears faster, so it increases a number of forwards (a total of 8) for the dual-clutch transmission, but in return omits the Reverse. Instead, the electric motor will be in charge of operating the vehicle in the opposite direction under necessary conditions, thereby helping the vehicle to limit energy consumption during power transmission.

Although there is no reverse gear, the gearbox is still responsible for adjusting both the engine and the electric motor, thereby allowing the car to operate only 1 of the 2 motors if the user wishes. For example, when EV Mode is activated, the entire engine will be separated from the transmission and allowed to rest, similar to when the car operates in simultaneity with the motor – engine. However, at low speed, the engine will also be rested because the electric motor is enough to handle the vehicle’s ability to operate.

Users have 2 ways to recharge the Artura’s battery – either using an external power source (80% fast charging in 2.5 hours via normal power), or using the motor itself to recharge.

In addition, temporarily ignoring the aforementioned economic improvements, Artura’s acceleration is only 0.2 seconds behind the legendary McLaren P1 (3 compared to 2.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h). The top speed of the car is limited to 330 km/h. In charge of restraining the Artura are 15.4-inch carbon ceramic disc brakes at the front, 15 inches at the rear and a pair of 6-piston monoblock aluminum brakes. Standard tires are Pirelli 235/35Z R19 front and 295/35 R20 rear.

The hydraulic power steering system is quite traditional, but is supported by an electronic differential that transmits torque instantaneously without delay to the desired axis, and is capable of self-locking under the control of the driver. drive to serve the ability to drift.

The Artura interior is described by McLaren as “premium but practical” that balances aesthetics, luxury and convenience for users. By default, the Artura uses electric seats to optimize comfort. Should users want a true sports car, buyers can replace the seats with a specialized Clubsport type that is not only lighter but also has the ability to be adjusted thanks to the groove in the floor, through which it simulates a backrest experience that adapts to the sitting posture.

In addition to Artura, McLaren Vietnam also plans to distribute other high-performance cars such as: 720S Coupe, 720S Spider, 765LT Coupe, 765LT Spider.
