After a series of images and videos, Toyota has finally officially unveiled the new generation of large-sized pickup trucks Tundra in the US market. Here, Toyota Tundra 2022 has a total of 6 versions:

  1. SR
  2. SR5
  3. Limited
  4. Platinum
  5. 1794
  6. TRD Pro

In particular, the TRD Pro version has the most attention as it is considered a rival of the Ford F-150 Raptor.

As the name suggests, Tundra TRD Pro 2022 is equipped with a genuine TRD accessory package developed by Toyota. Therefore, Toyota Tundra TRD Pro 2022 differs sharply from other models in terms of design.

At the front of the car, Tundra TRD Pro 2022 comes with a separate grille with the word “Toyota” located right above the integrated LED strip. In addition, TRD Pro version also has military camouflage paint details such as front/rear bumpers, tire side panels, and the rear door.

Next is the “TRD Pro” logo on the hood and rear door, with aluminum underbody guards, TRD exhaust system as well as 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires.

Similar to the exterior, the interior of the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro 2022 also has some unique equipment. This include a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, a TRD steering wheel with a red 12 o’clock position, aluminum set of pedals and large “Toyota” letters on the dashboard. In addition, the seats are embroidered “TRD Pro” logo.

Aside from a sportier design, Toyota Tundra TRD Pro 2022 is also upgraded with 2.5-inch FOX shock absorbers and an extra oil tank to increase off-road operational capability. Furthermore, there is a new front stabilizer bar and an additional 28 mm front lift system.

With the addition of the TRD Off-Road package, the pickup truck will now have Multi-Terrain Select system, downhill support system, and Crawl Control support system. In particular, Crawl Control is a cruise control system at low speed that allows users to choose 5-speed levels.

Another feature that supports the off-road ability of the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro 2022 is the Multi-Terrain Monitor. This system provides front, rear, and side visibility for the driver. More importantly, this system can help the driver avoid annoying obstacles.

The heart of Tundra TRD Pro 2022 is the all-new i-Force Max engine block. This 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Sandwiched between the engine and transmission is the generator. The resulting power stands at 437 hp and a maximum torque of 790 Nm. This is slightly lower than that of Ford F-150 Raptor.

In addition to the TRD Pro version, there are 2 other accessory TRD packages.

The first is TRD Off-Road, available in 3 versions: SR5, Limited, and 1794. This adds a TRD grille, front/rear underbody guards, 18-inch or 20-inch TRD wheels, and suspension concentrating on off-road capabilities, fenders as well as a leather-wrapped TRD gear lever for the vehicle. With the TRD Off-Road package, AWD versions of the Toyota Tundra 2022 also have an electronically controlled rear differential lock, Crawl Control, and Multi-Terrain Select.

The second is the TRD Sport package, only for version SR5. This package includes a TRD grille, lowered sports suspension, 20-inch rims, a leather-wrapped TRD gear lever, and specialized logo.
