The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) said that sales of member firms and some other imported brands in October were 36,560 vehicles, up 9.3% compared to September and 22.7 % in the same period last year.

Combined with the data of Hyundai car sales, TC Motor (8,174 vehicles), the whole market sold 44,734 vehicles last month, a slight increase of 6% compared to the previous month. This is the second consecutive month that market sales have grown after a slight decrease in August due to the impact of supply shortage.

Summarizing the entire market until October, the combined sales of VAMA, other importers and TC Motor reached 397,457 vehicles. Particularly for VAMA, the sales volume of this organization with member firms with large market shares such as Toyota, Mazda, Kia, Mitsubishi … after the first 10 months of 2022 at 332,963 vehicles. If maintaining a stable growth like the past two months, sales for the first time in 8 years, since it was calculated in 2014, may exceed 400,000 vehicles.

Car buying grew towards the end of the year thanks to preferential policies and discounts of companies and agents. With hot cars, in short supply, waiting 1-2 months for a car to be delivered, customers’ shopping has started now to have a car to play Tet.

The Vietnam Motor Show 2022 (VMS) which ended at the end of October recorded the highest number of orders ever when nearly 2,000 cars were sold (the exhibition took place in 5 days). Besides, there are thousands of orders for the cars that are about to be sold. This shows people’s great interest in cars, especially after 2 years of Covid-19.

Because the potential of a market of more than 98 million people like Vietnam is still large, many new car companies have recently tried to sell cars in Vietnam. For example, Chinese automakers, Chery, Czech automakers, Skoda.
