After the selling price have decreased, the purchase of Vision scooters skyrocketed as the supply from Honda gradually recovered.

Honda Vietnam recently announced its business results for August 2022. According to which, the company shipped a total of 198,405 vehicles, up by 20.8% over the previous month, and 100.8% over the same period in 2021. Notably, the Japanese automaker only publicly announced Vision sales only after 4 months of nondisclosure.

Accordingly, a total of 48,000 Vision units were shipped, accounting for 24.2% of the total sales of Honda motorcycles, overtaking Wave Alpha’s position (43,349 units sold) to become the company’s best-selling motorcycle. This is quite surprising when most of August 2022 coincides with the 7th lunar month – the period when Vietnamese make the least purchases due to bad luck.

The reason for this, given by Honda, is that “the increase in production and supply has significantly refilled inventory at HEADs, contributing to many positive impacts on the motorcycle market in Vietnam. Especially, sales of the VISION line recovered again”.

The price of Vision from August 2022 has returned to a more normal level when it ranges from 35-40 million VND, which is only about 5 million VND higher than the company’s proposed price. Compared with the price of nearly 60 million VND in the period of June – July, it is clear that consumers feel that their money is now better spent, and more people are willing to buy a unit.

Currently, in the middle of September 2022, many dealers are quoting Vision from only 34-38 million VND – that is, about the same level as at the beginning of year. Therefore, along with the stability of vehicle supply, it is expected that from now until the end of the year, Vision sales will increase even more.
