Currently, Toyota Veloz Cross is being imported CBU from Indonesia, but the number of units is limited. Supply is not enough for demand.
According to a sales consultant, Toyota Veloz Cross is likely to be converted from CBU import to domestic assembly by Toyota Vietnam, which is expected to be at the end of this year and start delivering cars at the beginning of the next. If it is true that Veloz Cross is produced domestically, the selling price of this MPV model may not decrease, but the supply promises to be more adequate to serve Vietnamese consumers.
Launched at the end of March with Toyota Avanza Premio, Veloz Cross is more attractive for Vietnamese customers because it not only possesses a stronger and more eye-catching design, but also has many leading technologies in the small MPV segment that are at less than 700 million VND. Specifically, on the most advanced CVT Top version, this model is equipped with LED lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather interior, 7-inch multi-information screen behind the steering wheel, 9-inch entertainment screen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connection, integrated electronic handbrake with automatic brake hold, automatic air conditioning, and wireless phone charging.
Notably, this version is equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense technology package that includes attractive features such as PCS, lane departure assist (LDA), AHB, PMC, and FDA. Not only that, the car comes with BSM, rear cross-traffic alert, 360-degree camera, and 6 airbags.
In terms of performance, Toyota Veloz Cross is equipped with a 1.5L gasoline engine for a maximum capacity of 105 horsepower and maximum torque of 138 Nm. Gearbox is a CVT, front-wheel drive.
When it was first launched in Vietnam, Toyota Veloz Cross had 2 versions with the same general selling price of 648 million and 688 million VND, equivalent to the AT Premium and Xpander Cross versions of the new Mitsubishi Xpander 2022. However, from August 1st, the price of Toyota Veloz Cross has been adjusted to increase by 10 million VND in both versions. This makes many unhappy, but the situation of inflation at the dealer has not shown any signs of cooling down. Currently, if consumers want to receive Veloz Cross soon without having to wait, they will have to buy an accessory package worth from 30 to 50 million VND depending on the location and version.
