The American automaker’s first new 440cc engine, competing with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, will be launched on July 3rd.
Project X 440 is the first collaboration between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp, an Indian automaker. Harley-Davidson The X440 will compete with Royal Enfield Classic 350, according to Motorbeam. The X 440 is scheduled to launch in India on July 3.
The X 440 has a neoclassical design style, featuring circular LED headlights, a teardrop-type fuel tank and a monocoque saddle. The steering wheel is flat with the footrest placed forward, for a comfortable driving posture on long journeys. The exhaust pipe is short-form and set on one side.
The engine of the X 440 has not been revealed, but according to Indian media, Harley-Davidson’s new model is equipped with a single-cylinder, 440 cubic centimeters, liquid-cooled, 6-speed gearbox, and manual taper.
Harley-Davidson The X 440 uses a conventional tubular frame, upside-down front shock absorbers and a pair of cylindrical spring rear shock absorbers. It has a pair of wheels with moulded rims, 18-inch front rims and 17-inch rear rims. It also has single disc brakes on each wheel, supporting two-channel ABS brakes.
