Yamaha Vietnam to introduce 3 new models

Three new models of the Japanese automaker are YZF-R15, new generation Grande, and an upgraded NVX.

On the afternoon of September 22, Yamaha launched three products, including one sportbike and two scooters. In particular, there are two new generations of existing models: YZF-R15 and Grande, and an upgrade for the NVX. In addition, Yamaha also introduced their Y-connect application.

The scooter model for changes its design, blending classic and modern inspirations. Yamaha aims the new generation Grande towards young and dynamic female Gen-Z customers. It is equipped with two-stage LED headlights. Front mask adds LED positioning lights located along the middle, and turn signals change from halogen to LED. Newly styled rear end also come with LED taillights.

The electronic interface displays full vehicle information. Refined saddle for a more comfortable sitting position. The scooter has an additional storage space in the front and a charging port. Under-seat storage box is 27 liters in capacity with LED trunk light. Y-connect is supported. ABS brakes are available on Premium and Limited trims only.

The new generation Grande’s Blue Core Hybrid engine is slightly tweaked to help save more fuel. Hybrid electric power assist system up to 3 seconds after rolling, helping to increase engine traction. Engine integrates Idle Start/Stop technology.

Grande sells under 3 versions, Standard for 45.9 million, Premium for 50.3 million, and Limited at 51 million VND. Delivery is expected to start early October, a Yamaha representative shared.

The new generation 150cc sportbike model is a version 4 (V4). R15 2022 inherits the design from seniors like YZR-M1 and YZF-R1. Units are imported from Indonesia and sold in two versions, including R15 and R15M. This product is aimed for young male customers. The body design is more aerodynamic than than previous versions; new headlight cluster employs LED ball lights located in the middle, while the slim position lights on the sides create accents. Gauges are digital, supporting Y-connect.

YZF-R15 2022 is equipped with a single cylinder engine, 150 cc in capacity, SOHC, liquid-cooled, electronic fuel injection. This gives 19 horsepower at 10,000 rpm, maximum torque of 14 ,7 Nm at 8,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Particularly, the R15M is equipped with dual-channel ABS brakes, two driving modes: Track and Street. Additional tech includes traction control system and Quick Shifter technology.

The new generation 150cc sportbike model is sold in 4 versions: R15 priced at 78 million, R15M priced at 86 million, and two special versions (limited 60-year MotoGP edition and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP version) priced at 87 million. The bike will be delivered to customers at the end of September.

NVX scooter upgraded version changes paint color and new stamp set. LCD clock increases in size and additionally displays Y-connect connection information and machine rpm. Engine and features remain the same. In the new version, NVX 155 VVA 2022 is sold with 4 colors to choose from, priced at VND 55 million.

 

Y-connect application

Y-connect connects phones to Yamaha motorcycle products. This application is aimed at young Gen Z customers. Y-connect offers features such as call alerts, e-mail and messages, vehicle maintenance and care information, fuel consumption, parking location, engine rpm, throttle opening, acceleration speed, intake air temperature, coolant temperature, and riding log.
