Fortunately, the number of Toyota Fortuner units in this recall is relatively small, with only 190 cars.
Recently, Toyota Vietnam has announced a recall for Toyota Fortuner to check and replace the brake-assist vacuum tube. According to Toyota Japan Corporation (TMC), a total of 190 Toyota Fortuner units were recalled and assembled in Vietnam, produced from 8/10/2019 to 2/12/2019.

According to TMC, affected units were equipped with a brake-assist system which includes vacuum tubes. Due to improper vulcanization, the vacuum tubes may not be elastic enough. If the vehicle continues to operate, they may be distorted and deformed, causing the assist system to lose its effectiveness.
Accordingly, Toyota Vietnam will check and replace the brake assist vacuum tubes for affected vehicles at all Toyota dealers nationwide. The duration of every checkup and replacement is about 0.6 – 1.2 hours max.
In addition to publishing information widely on the mass media, affected Toyota Fortuner owners will receive an invitation letter or a notification phone from an authorized Toyota dealer. In addition, customers can check whether their vehicle is affected by visiting the official website of Toyota Vietnam or contacting directly with TMV authorized Toyota dealers, or use the hotline number of Toyota Vietnam: 18001524 or 0916001524.
