VIETNAMESE-ASSEMBLED MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER ASSEMBLED ACHIEVED 5-STAR SAFETY ASSESSMENT OF ASEAN NCAP (21/11/2020)

ASEAN NCAP has just announced the safety assessment results for the Mitsubishi Outlander model assembled in Vietnam at a 5-star rating with the overall score reaching 83.54%.

The 7-seater SUV Mitsubishi Outlander currently assembled in Vietnam is not only sold domestically but also exported to several markets in Southeast Asia. Recently, the Southeast Asia New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP) has just announced the test results for the Mitsubishi Outlander.

Accordingly, Mitsubishi Outlander excellently achieved a 5-star rating for safety with a score of 83.54%. More specifically, the Mitsubishi Outlander’s scores in the test categories are as follows:

·        AOP – Ability to protect adult passengers: 33.06 / 36 points.

·        COP – Ability to protect young passengers: 40.48 / 49 points.

·        SAT – Supportive safety technology: 12.21 / 18 points.

It is informed that the Mitsubishi Outlander model assembled in Vietnam is equipped with driver assistance features such as automatic emergency braking system, blind spot monitoring system and rear cross vehicle warning. These safety systems have contributed to the improvements of Mitsubishi Outlander’s scores in the aforementioned safety tests.

In Vietnam, Mitsubishi Outlander is being distributed with the latest version under 3 variations: CVT 2.0, CVT 2.0 Premium and CVT 2.4 Premium. Depending on the edition, the car will have different equipment sets. While the CVT 2.0 still uses traditional halogen headlights, the two higher versions are equipped with modern LED lights; all three versions have LED navigation lights available. In addition, lighting sensors are standard on all three versions. The latest Mitsubishi Outlander version also comes with beautiful 18-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of interior, Outlander 2020 has a 7-inch entertainment screen which supports USB / AUX / Bluetooth connectivity and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems. The driver’s seat has 10-way power adjustment with drying feature, one-touch electric glass door, redesigned AC for rear doors, and USB charging port for passengers in the back.

The car has two engine versions: 2.0L and 2.4L. Version MIVEC 2.0L has a capacity of 145 HP at 6,000 RPM and a maximum torque of 196 Nm at 4,200 RPM. The higher-end MIVEC 2.4L engine has a capacity of 167 HP at 6,000 RPM and a maximum torque of 222 Nm at 4,100 RPM. To enhance the sporty driving experience, the Mitsubishi Outlander 2020 features a built-in gear switch on the steering wheel that can simulate 6 speeds.
