With competitive price, Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 although not yet capable of rivaling Mitsubishi Xpander, promises to improve sales thanks to this edition’s upgrades.

On March 22, the Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 and Veloz Cross 2022 duo were officially introduced to Vietnamese customers. In particular, Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 still has 2 versions with a starting price of 548 million VND. Meanwhile, the highest version goes up to 588 million VND, which means a reduction of up to 24 million compared to the old model. Compared to its direct rival, Mitsubishi Xpander, the price of Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 is 42 million VND lower, a big enough difference to make Vietnamese customers consider.

In the new generation, the Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 is developed on the basis of the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform, resulting in a change in the overall size. Specifically, its length increases by 205 mm to 4,395 mm; width increases by 70 mm to 1,730 mm; height is slightly raised by 5 mm to 1,700 mm. It is noteworthy that the wheelbase has increased to 95 mm, promising a more spacious interior space than before.

The exterior design of this small MPV model is also completely transformed with a thick and strong front end. The front of the car has the appearance of a large grille that is somewhat reminiscent of Toyota Raize. In terms of exterior equipment, both versions of Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 have LED front/rear lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, and power-adjustable/folding rearview mirrors.

Stepping inside, the interior of the Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 also has a much more modern design than before. Unfortunately, the seats still use felt material and can only be mechanically adjusted, even on the highest version. Behind the steering wheel is the Optitron dashboard with 4.2-inch TFT screen. The entertainment screen on both versions is an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity, comes with 4 speakers. Some other amenities include push button starter, electric-powered windows, mechanical air conditioning, and rear vents.

Under the hood, Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 is equipped with a fuel engine codenamed 2NR-VE, 4-cylinder, 1.5L in capacity. This outputs a maximum capacity of 105 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. Maximum torque reaches 138 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Depending on the version, the car will use a manual or CVT gearbox; front-wheel drive is standard.

Regarding safety equipment, Toyota Avanza Premio 2022 still has basic features such as ABS / BA / EBD brakes, electronic balance, VSC, HAC, reverse camera, parking assist sensor, 2 or 6 airbags, but the most advanced version also has blind spot warning and RCTA.
