Yamaha XMAX 300 is priced at 129 million VND. The vehicle is expected to be delivered by the end of this year.

The 300-cc scooter segment in Vietnam has just added a Yamaha XMAX 300. This is the first time the Japanese automaker distributes a scooter model with capacity over 175cc. With a selling price of VND 129 million, the XMAX 300 is an option competing next to the Honda SH 350i.

The design of the XMAX 300 follows the road style of the TMAX. This style is somewhat fancier than the urban style of the SH 350i, which is somewhat more familiar to domestic users. The scooter has an overall size of 2,185 x 775 x 1,465 mm (length x width x height), slightly higher than the SH 350i (2,160 x 743 x 1,162 mm). The vehicle is equipped with front and rear disc brakes. XMAX 300 has 15-inch front wheel and 14-inch rear wheel.

XMAX 300 optimizes storage capacity by placing a smart lock system in the middle, storage compartments are on its sides. The smart lock of this scooter model is slightly better than the SH 350i with the addition of remote trunk opening feature.

Yamaha equips the XMAX 300 with a 292cc single cylinder engine. This engine block produces 28 horsepower at 7,250 rpm, maximum torque of 29 Nm at 5,750 rpm. The fuel consumption of this model reaches 3L/100 km.

Considering a competitor, SH 350i has a cylinder capacity of 329.6 cc, significantly larger than the XMAX, but the capacity is only slightly higher, reaching 29.2 horsepower. In return, SH 350i produces 2.8 Nm more torque. XMAX 300 is equipped with traction control system and 2-channel ABS similar to SH 350i.

The Yamaha XMAX 300 is priced at VND 129 million, more accessible than the 148.9-150.5 million VND of Honda SH 350i. This is the first time that a large displacement scooter model with a road design that is under 150 million VND is sold genuine. Reasonable price and large displacement are the advantages of XMAX, although the market is niche in Vietnam.
