The first impression with the outlook of the new generation YZF-R15 is the LED ball-shaped lighting system at the front, just like the seniors, giving the R15 the appearance of a Big Bike. Embellishing the front is a pair of slim DRL positioning lights, catching design from the middle to the outside, making the YZF-R15 look bigger. YZF-R15 2022 uses a 155cc SOHC single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with lightweight aluminum piston technology and high compression ratio DiASil cylinder, with large diameter intake and exhaust system, set air filter up to 5.5 liters, equipped with clutch assist and anti-slip technology to increase smoothness when operating with a three-stage silencer exhaust. Thanks to the addition of variable valve timing (VVA) technology, the YZF-R15 engine provides excellent torque at low to medium rpm while still ensuring abundant power at high rpm, delivering outstanding performance emotional experience across the entire rev range during use, in contrast to the monotonous torque commonly found in small displacement models. In addition to class-leading power of up to 19 hp and approximately 15 Nm of torque, the YZF-R15 engine is still fuel-efficient, with a possible range of more than 450 km for the 11-liter fuel tank.

In addition to the powerful engine, the YZF-R15 still has the optimal driving feel and flexibility typical of the R-series. YZF-R15 uses Yamaha’s famous sturdy Deltabox frame, providing stability when moving at high speeds. The suspension system on the bike includes a pair of KYB upside-down forks with Nissin 2-piston brake shackles with 282 mm large brake discs, KYB rear monoshock with 220 mm brake discs, providing safe and stable braking performance. The aluminum alloy rear grip is reinforced for better bearing and connection with 140/70-17 sport tires. Thanks to the optimized suspension system, the YZF-R15 feels extremely compact and flexible when used in urban road, while ensuring stability and accuracy when handling cornering situations.

On the throttle shackles of the YZF-R15M, there is also an updated Track/Street mode, switching modes with an easy button to make practice more convenient. Equally prominent on the YZF-R15M is the ByBre high-end brake calipers that not only catches the eye but also offers better braking performance of Brembo. It can be said that the experience is extremely smooth at all levels and the impressive performance of the YZF-R15M promises to set a new standard in the segment.
