At the end of year, people in Hanoi rush to register their cars. Vehicles had to wait in long lines for many hours to get their turn.
From reports of recent days, the number of vehicles coming to register at the 2903S Motor Vehicle Registration Center on Le Quang Dao Street (My Dinh, Hanoi) has increased dramatically. Here, cars have to line up in three and four lines, stretching from the center to the outside of Le Quang Dao Street.
Having waited for vehicle registration for over 2 hours, Mr. Tran Xuan Hai said that he was worried about the number of people going to register for the New Year. As such, he took advantage of early registration. However, when he came to site, Mr. Hai did not expect the long line of cars at the entrance of the registration center.
As for Mr. Nguyen Van Thao, a taxi driver, he shared: “I’ve been a driver for many years and find this to be a normal thing every time I register a vehicle close to Tet. My car was bought in December, and I have to renew my registration once a year. That’s why I go back to re-register yearly during this period. The crowdedness is normal to me.”
The chief of 2903S Center said that the number of vehicles coming for vehicle inspection in the last days of the year increased 5 times compared to the previous periods. Specifically, every day, about 200 vehicles come to the center for registration procedures. The crowdedness happens due to information on many registration centers in Ho Chi Minh City being suspended. Many vehicle owners are concerned about the difficulty of registration. In addition, people are worried that it will be crowded near Tet, so they take their cars to register before the deadline.
