VinBus officially operates in Hanoi: 16 hours/day, 15 minutes/trip, running 3 routes around the capital

After half a year of test runs, VinBus has officially starts its service.

On December 2, VinBus officially put into operation the first electric bus route in Vietnam, serving the travel needs of Hanoians. VinBus’ routes will join and operate with the current regular bus network. The average weekly frequency of buses will be 15-20 minutes/trip, operating from 5am to 9pm daily.

There will be 3 inital bus routes across in Hanoi: E01 (My Dinh bus station – Ocean Park urban area), E03 (Ham Nghi – Ocean Park urban area), and E05 (Long Bien – Smart City urban area). In particular, route E03 is the first to operate with the route being the central routes, connecting the East and the West of the city with 15 stops including: My Dinh (Ham Nghi) – Nguyen Hoang – Pham Hung – Khuat Duy Tien – Tran Duy Hung – Nguyen Chi Thanh – Huynh Thuc Khang – Thai Ha – Chua Boc – Pham Ngoc Thach – Dai Co Viet – Tran Khat Chan – Vinh Tuy Bridge – Aeon Mall Long Bien – Co Linh – Ocean Park Urban Area.

Route E01 will be opened in December, going over: My Dinh bus station – Pham Hung – Khuat Duy Tien – Nguyen Trai – Truong Chinh – Dai La – Minh Khai – Vinh Tuy Bridge – Aeon Mall Long Bien – Co Linh – Ocean Park Urban Area. And route E05 with the route is Long Bien – Yen Phu – Thanh Nien – Thuy Khue – Dao Tan – Cau Giay – Xuan Thuy – Pham Hung – Thang Long Avenue – Smart City urban area.

 

VinBus is the first electric bus model of Vingroup. The electric motor is located at the rear. The model battery has a capacity of 281 kWh. It only takes 2 hours of charge at a 150kW station to fill up the bus. Every full charge enables each unit to operate from 220-260 km, depending on conditions.

The bus has a square design, combining the tones of black and green. Each unit can hold up to 72 people, including 25 seats and 47 handles for passengers. Boarding passengers can pay by card or Napas, as well as tracking routes and send suggestions via the mobile app. Ticket price ranges from 7,000 – 9,000 VND, monthly ticket is from 55,000 – 200,000 VND. The bus is free for the elderly, people with meritorious services, the disabled, children under 6 years old, and people from poor households.

VinBus is also oriented to be a smart electric bus thanks to equipment such as AI camera to monitor driving behavior, WiFi for passengers, cruise monitoring device, in-car security monitoring, information management software. fleet information… In addition, the bus can automatically raise or lower its body to help the elderly, children, or the disabled get on and off. There are  also USB charging ports for each row of seats.

And of course, VinBus uses an electric motor, so there is no noise or emissions.

In addition to normal charging stations, VinBus also has Depot stations (stops) for monitoring, safety inspection, maintenance, repair and automatic cleaning of buses. These stations have roofs fitted with solar panels. The station construction campus is over than 1 hectare wide.
