SOCIAL TRENDS:
EV continues to be a trend in Vietnam when technology delivery company Ahamove gradually switched to using electric motorbikes to reduce costs compared to gasoline motorbikes and reduce emissions to the environment. Meanwhile, state activities on coverting to eco-friendly vehicles are being promoted when in December 2022, Hanoi City piloted an electric bicycle rental service in 6 inner city districts to serve the needs of people.
Not only Vietnam, other countries in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia are also actively participating in the use of electric motorbikes as the main means of replacing gasoline motorbikes. It is predicted that by 2030, electric motorbikes will account for 50% of the motorcycle market, especially two technology giants – Grab and Gojek are committed to converting their entire fleet to electric vehicles.

The high-end large-displacement scooter segment continues to be exciting when Piaggio continues to add 2 models to Vietnam market: Beverly S 400 HPE and MP3 400 HPE Sport with the price of 235-330 million VND to help customers get more options but at the same time create fierce competition among FDI companies in Vietnam. It is predicted that this segment will continue to be active in the future when the average income of people increases, making it easier for them to give decision to buy more luxury goods.

SPORTS:
Besides scooters, the sports bike segment also continues to be exciting when Piaggio continues to bring more large displacement models Moto Guzzi V7 into the Vietnamese market, which promises to have more options for customers who love the BigBike segment. Besides Piaggio, Ducati has also upgraded the best-selling Ducati Scrambler range to change its youthful and more modern appearance to attract more customers.
While for the family sport, Honda slightly changed on Winner X with new tripes and colors, but still could not increase sales for this model when the market price was lower than Honda’s suggested retail price 15 million VND.

The electric vehicle market continues to be vibrant and warns of fierce competition between domestic manufacturers and FDI companies.
Pega – a manufacturer and distributor of electric motorcycles in Vietnam has just registered an industrial design copyright for a completely new electric vehicle model with the Vietnam Intellectual Property Office. Pega’s new electric scooter model has a stylish and modern design in the style of European scooters. This shows that this electric motorcycle company is also focusing on the segment that Vinfast is targeting.
Meanwhile, more electric motorbike companies continue to enter the Vietnamese market. Korean electric motorcycle manufacturer Zio Motors inaugurated a factory with a capacity of about 12,000 vehicles per year, in Bac Ninh, on October 31, it is forecast that the electric vehicle market share in Vietnam will continue to be further divided.
Vietnamese electric motorbike startup -Dat Bike has just received an additional 8 million USD, bringing the total amount raised to 16.5 million USD to help the company invest in improving production quality, expanding factory scale, and continuously improve the products. Dat Bike currently has 3 stores in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang and plans to open more stores in Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Nha Trang, Binh Duong and Can Tho.
