Harley-Davidson’s electric motorcycle officially launches at 366 million VND

Live Wire, as known as the electric vehicle manufacturing branch of Harley Davidson has recently officially launched 2023 LiveWire S2 Del Mar for $15,499 – about 366.3 million VND when converted into Vietnamese currency.

This is the electric model introduced by the manufacturer from the US company earlier this year and received high appreciation from experts. The 2023 LiveWire S2 Del Mar has a Flat-Tracker design and is aimed at younger customers. The chassis of this electric model also uses pure black color instead of the sleek chrome color like traditional Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

LiveWire informed that the S2 Del Mar uses a 10.5kWh battery with J1772 Type 1 charging standard. With this charging standard, users can choose from 2 charging levels. With Level 1 it will take 5.9 hours to recharge from 20% to 80% and 8,4 hours to recharge from 0 to 100% of the battery capacity. Meanwhile, with Level 2, the charging time is only 1.3 hours for recharging from 20% to 80% and 2.4 hours for recharging fully from 0 to 100%.

In terms of power, the S2 Del Mar is equipped with an electric motor capable of producing up to 84 horsepower and torque able to reach 263 Nm and has a maximum speed of 165 km/h. For comparison, it was only with the new 117,1cc Milwaukee Eight 917 V-twin engine block that the H-D Road Glide model is able to produce up to 168 Nm of torque.

In tests, the S2 Del Mar can travel a distance of 165km on a full charge, including 112km traveling at a speed of 85 km/h. The vehicle has a weight of 192kg and saddle height of 817mm.

Equipment includes Brembo M4.32 brakes with 4 pistons on the front wheels and Brembo PF32 brakes with single pistons for the rear wheels. In addition, LiveWire is also equipped with Showa reverse travel front shock absorbers, Showa’s single-cylinder spring system with multi-level adjustment in rear. The vehicle also uses 19-inch rims with Dunlop ST tires with front and rear sizes of 130/80 and 140/80 respectively.
