The Japanese brand has opened the sale of the 2022 KLX230 with three versions, highest price at 151 million VND.

On October 16, the distributor Kawasaki in Vietnam announced the selling price of the multi-terrain vehicle, KLX 240. The are 3 versions: R priced at 145 million VND, S and SM at the same price of 151 million VND.

Currently, KLX 230 S and SM versions are available for delivery to customers except R version. All are imported from Indonesia.

The R, S and SM versions are almost similar in overall design, except for the headlights, front shock absorbers and tires. The SM version uses normal tires, can run in the city and light off-road. The front and rear rims are all 17 inches.

KLX230 S and R versions use 21-inch front rims, 18-inch rear, specialized for off-road. The forks on these two versions is a telescopic type that prioritizes durability, while the SM version of the upside-down type prioritizes smooth response.

The LED headlights on the S and SM versions are the same. The motorcycle currently only has a green color option on the R and S versions. The SM version is a black-green combination color.

The handlebar of the KLX230 SM version is wide and low, combined with a 845 mm high saddle, for a comfortable riding position and easy to control when off-road. Due to the different wheel rims, the seat height of the versions is also different. In which the highest R version, 925 mm, the lowest S version 830 mm.

All-terrain tires with 21-inch rims on the S version. All versions of KLX230 in Vietnam have front and rear disc brakes but no ABS.

Rear 17-inch rim on the S version. The wheelbase of this version and R is 1,360 mm, slightly shorter than the SM version (1,375 mm) to increase the ability to rotate and easier to control.

Rear cylindrical fork on KLX230. Ground clearance for the S, SM and R versions is 210 mm, 230 mm and 300 mm, respectively.

All three versions of the Kawasaki KLX230 use same SOHC engine with single-cylinder, air-cooled, 233 cc. The R version has a capacity of 20 HP, 21 Nm, the other two versions are slightly reduced, at 19 HP and 19.8 Nm. 6-speed gearbox.

Simple outlook design and only focus to attract a small group of adventurous customers, the off-road type has not developed much in Vietnam. In addition to Kawasaki, for genuine “off-road” motorcycle, only Aprilia sells 2 versions of RX 125 and SX 125 for less tha 100 million VND. And KTM sells versions from 350 cc or more, priced from 489 million VND.
