KTM to launch naked-bike Super Duke R Evo, competing against Streetfighter V4 and Z H2

08 Nov 2021

The KTM Super Duke R EVO model will be upgraded in the throttle, suspension, and other assistive technologies to increase operating performance.

Recently, KTM has reveaked that they will launch at least one new model this November. Sources believe that this new model is a new, and more powerful version of the Naked bike 1290 Super Duke R.

KTM 1290 Super Duke R 2021 is among the latest generation of bikes launched 2 years ago. Last year, KTM also launched a high-performance RR version for this model. Currently, it is possible that KTM is developing another version of Super Duke, tentatively called KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO, with some tweaks to help the bike compete better with rivals like Ducati Streetfighter V4 S and Kawasaki Z H2.

According to their previous announcement, KTM will not attend EICMA 2021 taking place later this month. Instead, the Austrian automaker will hold its own event called “Naked November”, spending this November to honor the product line. So the appearance of the Super Duke R EVO model is highly likely.

About this model, sources suggest KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO will be equipped with an acceleration throttle with a rotation amplitude of up to 65 degrees, allowing the user to accelerate the bike faster than the standard version. In addition, the WP suspension system will also be upgraded to an electronically controlled semi-active type to increase performance. Most likely, this will be the second generation WP APEX suspension system currently available on the RC series.

Users may upgrade to the PRO suspension system, which allows for adjustments of the front and rear shock absorbers, as well as the anti-roll feature when braking. KTM 1290 Super model Duke R EVO will retail at $ 19,599, available on the market in January 2022.
