Not long after the recall of over 400 new generation Honda Civic and HR-V cars, Honda recently continued to announce another recall involving series of large displacement motorcycle models, including CBR1000RR-R, Gold Wing, and Africa Twin. The recalled batch are manufactured from December 2019 – June 2021.

Previously, through Honda’s inspection, it was discovered that during use, owners of Honda CBR1000RR-R, Gold Wing, and Africa Twin may experience abnormal engine stalling. This was caused by an error in the control program of the ECU affecting the operation of the injectors and the ignition cluster.

Honda Vietnam recommends that, should customers notice the above-mentioned signs, the temporary solution is to turn off the electric lock and restart the vehicle. At the same time, contact Honda dealerships of large displacement vehicles for support and repair.

Honda CBR1000RR-R and Gold Wing are the highest-priced big bikes in Honda’s motorcycle product roster in Vietnam. CBR1000RR-R has two versions, priced from 950 million to 1.050 billion VND. Meanwhile, the proposed price of Honda Gold Wing is up to 1.231 billion VND. The off-road model Honda Africa Twin is also priced at nearly 700 million VND.
