Naked bike Yamaha MT-10 2022 released: Less massive, more powerful

10 Nov 2021

The Yamaha MT-10 2022 has been officially revealed with a futuristic design, a more powerful engine, and a modern TFT color screen.

Also in the MT-Series naked-bike line, the MT-10 model has finally been upgraded at the end of this year. Similar to the MT-07 and MT-09, the new Yamaha MT-10 has been comprehensively improved in terms of design and engine.

In terms of appearance, the Yamaha MT-10 2022 continues to maintain the street warrior Roadster design with a minimalist plastic design, but still exudes a muscular and aggressive look thanks to the unique lines in the fuel tank and the headlight. The headlight of the new Yamaha MT-10 has been shortened, omitting sharp details and replaced by a soft rounded design in both the windshield and the face shape.

The fuel tank also has similar changes to highlight the strong look of the bike. Another notable change is the design of the taillights with a larger size, the brake light face has a T-shaped shape that simulates the MT-Series logo beautifully.

According to Yamaha, the entire lighting system on the Yamaha MT-10 uses LED technology. Notably, the redesigned projector LED headlights with many beautifully cut corners compensate for the lack of angularity in the overall vehicle. Right above which are two long LED strips that are soft, replacing the small V-shaped navigational lights in the old version.

Aside from the innovation in appearance, the power of the Yamaha MT-10 also has a big change. Although still equipped with a powerful CP4 engine block with a 4-cylinder crossplane setup, this engine of MT-10 has been calibrated to meet Euro 5 emission standards, and has increased capacity from 158 to 164 hp at 11,500 rpm; torque increased from 111 to 112 Nm at 9,000 rpm.

The power of the engine is increased thanks to the use of die-cast aluminum pistons, deflected arms, and directly plated cylinders to maximize performance. Meanwhile, a number of new components inside the engine also help torque increase faster and more evenly in the range from 4,000 – 8,000 rpm.

New equipment on the Yamaha MT-10 2022 include a 4.2-inch TFT color screen with phone connectivity. This is also the place to display information about electronic systems such as: 6-axis IMU sensor, driving mode, slip control feature, front-wheel stall control system, traction control, dynamic braking control…

Suspension system includes KYB suspension, disc brakes with Brembo brakes, 17-inch cast rims with Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tires.

In Europe, the Yamaha MT-10 2022 will be sold in February 2022 under 3 color options: Gray Blue (Cyan Storm), Blue Black (Icon Blue), and Black (Tech Black).
