Honda Winner X and Yamaha Exciter sport clutch duo are in the race of price reduction from several to tens of million VND to improve competitiveness and attract customers.

According to infomation collected, currently Honda motorcycle dealers are selling Winner X standard version for only 34-36.5 million VND, which is lower than the proposed price of 10.1 – 12.6 million VND. The special and sports versions of Honda Winner X have listed price range from 50.06 to 50.56 million VND, however, at the dealership, the actual price of these versions is only from 40 million VND, equivalent to a reduction of 10-10.5 million VND.

Meanwhile, to compete with the Honda Winner X, the Yamaha Exciter is also being distributed at a lower price than the proposed price by dealers but with less difference.

In particular, the standard version of Yamaha Exciter 155 VVA has proposed price range from 47.6 – 47.8 million VND, but in fact at the dealership this version only costs from 43.5 – 46 million VND. The limited, premium version of this model is also being sold by dealers 2.5 – 3.3 million VND lower than the proposed price. Honda Winner X and Yamaha Exciter are both sports clutch models aimed at young customers.

In the latest press release, Honda Vietnam said that the total number of Honda motorcycles sold in January 2023 only reached 222,545 units, equivalent to a decrease of 13.1% compared to December 2022 and 16% over the same period last year.

Yamaha dealers in Ho Chi Minh City also said that purchasing power is currently slowing down, sales volume is decreased compared to the end of last year, especially models in the sport clutch segment.

In fact, compared to cubs and scooters, recently, there hasn’t many new models in the 150-155 cc sports cluch segment distributed in Vietnam. Two familiar names Honda Winner X and Yamaha Exciter, only renew in the style of changing stamps, adding new paint colors.

Therefore, compared to scooters, cubs … 150 – 155 cc sports clutch mortocycles in Vietnam are losing their attractiveness. In this context, Honda and Yamaha dealers are in the race for discount of Honda Winner X and Yamaha Exciter. In particular, with Honda Winner X, dealers is still following the tradition of selling below its proposed price.
