THE “MASTER OF TORQUE” YAMAHA MT-09 WILL FEATURE A NEW ENGINE THAT RISES POWER BY 7 HP

23 Sep 2020

Yamaha MT-09 is developing a new engine block that is faster, stronger and cleaner than the current version.

As it is well known, one of the most appreciated Hyper Naked Bike models in the world is the Yamaha MT-09 with its compact appearance, great power and impressive technology. However, after many years of keeping the design as well as the legendary CP3 engine block, it is very likely that in 2021 this model will have an engine that is refined to meet the strict Euro 5 emission standards.

Launched in 2014, Yamaha MT-09 has always been a vehicle for bikers who love the thrill on motorcycles. In the latest update from 2018, the Yamaha MT-09 has overcome changes that fans regard highly from appearance to strength. Most recently, the KBA (a German vehicle licensing agency) documents showed that Yamaha is planning to launch a new generation of CP3 engine block for the MT-09.

Accordingly, the id of the new Yamaha MT-09 is MTN890D while that of the current version is MTN850D. Therefore, surely the engine block of the “king of torque” MT-09 will more or less be changed and is capable of being raised to the correct number of 900cc.

In addition, the KBA also stated that the MT-09 2021 will be more powerful than before with an increase of 7 HP to a total of 120 HP and of course will meet Euro 5 standards. Currently, the Japanese motorbike brand has yet to reveal any information or official announcements for the Yamaha MT-09 2021. Perhaps, this CP3 engine block will also, in turn, be included in other models such as the Tracer 900 or the new XSR900.
