Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Fortuner maintain in leading positions of D-size high-rise cars in Vietnamese market.

The market share of D and E-size SUVs in September did not change much. According to data published by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and Hyundai Thanh Cong, the consumption of high-rise D-size cars in September reached 2,222 vehicles, down by 21.5% compared to August.

Hyundai Santa Fe and Fortuner are two models that continuously lead monthly sales. Santa Fe sold 998 units in September, the highest in the division, 160 more than the previous month. Toyota’s 7-seater SUV is in second place with 663 vehicles, 112 more cars than in August.

Kia Sorento ranked 3rd with sales of 248 units, down by 72 units compared to August. 4th place belonged to Mazda CX-8, the Japanese brand SUV model sold 174 units, downed by nearly 200 units compared to the previous year.

The last three rankings belong to Ford Everest, Isuzu mu-X and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Everest sales in September were 59 vehicles, down by 91.4% compared to August. Right behind Everest is the mu-X with 58 units, increasing by 30. Pajero Sport ranked last with sales of 22 units, 17 more cars than in August.

The end of September is also the end of the first three quarters of 2022. Cumulatively, Hyundai Santa Fe sold 7,705 units, the highest sales in the market share of D-size high-rise cars. Fortuner was in second place with accumulated sales of 5,697 vehicles. 3,650 vehicles are the cumulative sales of Kia Sorento. Mazda CX-8 and Ford Everest are at positions 4 and 5, respectively, with 2,827 and 2,772 units. The only E-size SUV model is VinFast Lux SA2.0, which ended the first 3 quarters with 1,500 units, ranked 6th. The two models at the bottom of the sales chart belonged to Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (893 units) and Isuzu mu- X with 217 cars.
