In addition to a deposit of 10 million VND to prioritize early delivery, the dealer also said that the commercial version of XFC will be released in the second half of 2023.

Many Mitsubishi dealers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City offer the expected price of the commercial XFC (unofficial name) at about 700-800 million VND. This model will be a potential competitor of B-sized SUVs on the market such as Hyundai Creta (640-740 million VND), Kia Seltos (649-759 million VND), Honda HR-V (826-871 million VND), Nissan Kicks (789-858 million VND) …

With the above price (assuming applicable), Mitsubishi XFC is marginally higher than Korean models and somewhat similar to compatriot Japanese rivals. The company has only announced the roadmap to launch the commercial version, which is expected to be at the end of 2023 or early 2024, without pricing information.

The XFC concept is a global positioning small high-ground- clearance-car project, but it was originally developed from the consumption behavior of Southeast Asian customers, including Vietnamese. The car has had 4,000 km of testing in many traffic conditions in Vietnam.

In Southeast Asia, the commercial XFC is likely to still be produced at Mitsubishi’s factory in Indonesia, serving the domestic market and exporting to neighboring markets. This model is the replacement for the Outlander Sport, the small CUV positioned below the Outlander but discontinued. In Vietnam, Mitsubishi is also missing a product in the small urban high-ground-clearance car segment, which is growing hot. Toyota, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, Volkswagen, MG, Nissan… all have products to compete in this segment. The appearance of the commercial XFC makes Mitsubishi’s product range more diverse.

The small urban car model XFC is also expected to be a “new star” of Mitsubishi after the success of Xpander. The MPV Xpander model is currently the sales force of the Japanese company in Vietnam with sales of more than 17,700 vehicles after 10 months, dominating the segment and helping Mitsubishi reach the top 4 most car sellers in Vietnam. However, except for Attrage, the remaining products of Mitsubishi such as Triton, Outlander, Pajero Sport did not make a big impression on sales in each segment.
