A total of 800 Citroen My Ami Buggy units were ordered after only 10 hours of online sales in Europe.

Citroen’s off-road style mini electric car, the My Ami Buggy, has become a surprise hit in the industry, exceeding the manufacturer’s expectations, particularly in the European market.

Citroen officially started selling the My Ami Buggy at 11 am on June 20, and within the same day, all available units were sold out. In Spain, a customer managed to complete their purchase within a remarkable 70 seconds. Previously, in 2022, Citroen only sold this mini electric car model in France, but this year it expanded its availability to other European markets.

Among the European countries, Belgium stood out with 65 cars sold out in just 9 minutes. Additionally, 430 cars were purchased by French customers within a span of 2 hours. In total, 800 units of the My Ami Buggy were sold to customers in France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, the UK, Luxembourg, and Greece. Another 200 vehicles will be produced and sold this summer exclusively in Turkey, Morocco, and French overseas territories.

The Citroen My Ami Buggy features a doorless design with a metal frame. It is a two-seater vehicle, and due to the absence of doors, it does not have air conditioning. The concept of the My Ami Buggy was first introduced in December 2021, and the limited edition cars launched in the summer of 2022 quickly sold out, generating significant excitement among interested buyers.

Equipped with a 5.5 kWh battery pack, the vehicle can be fully charged in 4 hours and has a range of 74 km. Its top speed is limited to 45 km/h. Citroen plans to begin delivering the car to customers in September, with prices in Europe ranging from $8,600 to $11,500.
