Ford discounts Ranger, Territory, Everest

05 Oct 2023

In September, Ford’s three SUV and pickup models has reduced prices by 9-50 million VND depending on the version.

Between widespread price reductions in the market, Ford is no exception by offering discounts on several models including Territory, Everest, and Ranger, ranging from tens of millions VND.

For Territory, in addition to market factors when demand for cars decreased compared to the same period last year, the price of the new Mazda CX-5 from 749 million VND also caused price of Ford’s model to drop sharply. Specifically, a decrease of 50 million is offered for the Trend version, 65 million for the Titanium X  and 73 million for the Titanium.

Before the introduction of the new CX-5 (excluding the low-selling MG HS), Ford Territory was the most affordable crossover in the C-segment. The Territory comes in three versions, domestically assembled, priced between 822 million and 935 million VND. Thus, after the discount, the Territory now ranges from 772 million to 862 million VND.

Ford’s promotions in September also extend to the Everest. All versions of the 7-seater SUV are reduced by 55 million VND.  Rivals of the Everest with body-on-frame chassis, such as the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Toyota Fortuner diesel engine versions, are also offering discounts of over 100 million VND. After 8 months of 2023, the Everest is the best-selling high-ground clearance vehicle in the D-segment with nearly 6,000 units sold, which is twice as much as the sales of the Hyundai Santa Fe.

The Ford Ranger Wildtrak is sold slower than the other models, therefore the company is stimulating sales by offering a 50% reduction in registration fees. This cost reduction is about 30-35 million VND.

Among the members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), Ford is the only automaker with positive growth in sales after 8 months of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. It sold 23,366 vehicles, representing an increase by 85%. The reason is that in 2022, many Ford models reach the end of their life cycle, leading to limited supply and lower sales. In contrast, in 2023, all of the company’s products are in new versions, and both customer demand and supply are stable.
