The D-sized sedan will now be equipped with Honda Sensing safety package while retaining its original 1.5 Turbo engine. Prices are unchanged.

On December 21, Honda launched an upgraded version of the Accord for the Vietnamese market. The new car does not change its appearance or engine, but safety technology is enhanced with Honda Sensing package.

Honda Accord 2022 is the second Honda model to have this safety technology package after the CR-V. Honda Sensing includes functions such as automatic collision mitigation when braking, adaptive smart headlights, active cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist… The new technology is added on top of those in the old version. These include: anti-drowsy warning, lane monitoring system, electronic handbrake, automatic brake hold, electronic balance, hill-start assist, multi-angle rearview camera, and 6 airbags.

The Japanese model retains its 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, which has a capacity of 188 horsepower at 5,500 rpm, and maximum torque of 260 Nm at 1,600-5,000 rpm. CVT gearbox is used. Despite being upgraded with the Honda Sensing safety technology package, the new Accord still keeps the price of 1,319 billion VND. However, the white colorway will cost an additional 10 million VND, to 1,329 billion. The car still has only one version imported from Thailand.

Safety technology is becoming a competitive field among brands in Vietnam. Mazda6 started this trend when installing many of the safety technologies of the i-Activesense package. Toyota for their Camry launched on December 17 also adds the 2nd generation TSS safety package. With Honda, the company brought the Honda Sensing package to the Accord 2022 to increase competitiveness.

Kia K5 is more modest than its competitors, but the technology content is also quite complete when it comes to electronic balance, support for horizontal departure, panoramic camera, blind spot display on the screen, pressure sensor, and many more.
