Some dealers have started taking deposits for the Honda BR-V model that will launch in the middle of the year, importing the complete unit from Indonesia.
After confirming that the new Honda BR-V is about to open for sale in Vietnam, recently, sales consultants have started accepting deposits for this model. The car is expected to be launched in the next 1-2 months and is fully imported from Indonesia.
Currently, the selling price of Honda BR-V in Vietnam is still unknown. The consultant also could not confirm the specific price for this MPV model and is only receiving a deposit of VND 10-20 million from customers to reserve a seat.
This information has not been confirmed by Honda Vietnam, but on August 8, in an exchange with the press, Mr. Yusak Billy – Marketing and Sales Director of Honda Indonesia said that the company plans to export BR-V to Vietnam. In addition, in December 2022, there were rumors that this model had arrived in Vietnam.
The overall design of the Honda BR-V is a bit SUV-oriented, with square lines. Notable exterior equipment has LED front lights, wheels in sizes of 16 inches or 17 inches depending on the version.
On the inside, the car is equipped with an analog clock combined with a 4.2-inch TFT screen, and a central 7-inch touchscreen. Honda Sensing safety equipment package with many driver assistance functions is likely to appear on cars sold in Vietnam, in the current context, Toyota Veloz Cross and Hyundai Stargazer are two outstanding models in terms of technology in the segment.
Under the bonnet, the BR-V is powered by a 1.5L, naturally aspirated petrol engine, giving a maximum output of 119bhp and a peak torque of 145Nm. The transmission is a stepless CVT, with front-wheel drive.
According to the sales consultant, the Honda BR-V model was planned by the Japanese automaker to import to Vietnam in 2019 but then did not deploy it, because it has not developed a good selling price policy. By 2020, information of this model suddenly appeared on the website of the Vietnam Register but then there was still no sign of launch.
Honda BR-V about to open for sale in Vietnam has not yet had an expected selling price but looking at the four-wheel product range of the Japanese automaker, this MPV model will hardly have a competitive price with other products in the same segment.
Currently, Mitsubishi Xpander is priced at VND 555-698 million, Toyota Veloz Cross starts from VND 658 million to VND 698 million, Hyundai Stargazer is priced at VND 575-685 million, and the selling price of Suzuki XL7 is in the range of VND 600-640 million.
