Adding a cash discount of 150 million VND from the company and the 50% registration fee incentive of the Government, the price of CR-V cars decreased by at least 200 million VND.

In August, Honda reduced the cash price of the Honda CR-V CUV model by VND 150 million to clear the warehouse in preparation for the launch of the new generation CR-V in the last quarter of 2023. Combined with the 50% discount on the advance fee from the Government (Decree 41), the total reduction for the Honda CR-V is at least VND 200 million.

To cope with Truong Hai’s low price of VND 749-829 million for the mid-cycle upgraded Mazda CX-5, Honda and its authorized dealers have been promoting discounts on the CR-V to compete with the pressure from rivals. The market for the CR-V is currently quiet, as customers are waiting for the new version, causing the demand for the current CR-V to slow down.

Dealers have been actively reducing prices since the beginning of 2023, supporting customers with 100% of the registration fee, which amounts to around VND 100 million, in addition to the 50% discount from the government. In August, Honda also supported its two models, the Civic RS and Accord, with 50% of the registration fee.

The new generation Honda CR-V is expected to be available in the market in October or November. The specific selling price has not been announced yet, but customers have been able to make deposits to secure their orders. The new CR-V will come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, and for the first time, there will be a 2.0 hybrid engine option.

The 6th generation Honda CR-V was launched in its key market, Thailand, in March. The car features significant changes in both the interior and exterior design. The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine produces 190 horsepower and a maximum torque of 243 Nm. The new CR-V also offers a hybrid option with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine combined with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery, producing 207 horsepower and a torque of 335 Nm.

In Vietnam, the CR-V switched to domestic assembly from the second half of 2020 instead of being imported from Thailand. The car is currently sold in 4 versions, all with a 7-seat configuration, and the prices range from 998 to 1,138 million VND.
