The new high-ground-clearance model positions the B-size crossover segment, based on the Honda City foundation, powered by the 1.5 engine, making its global debut on June 6.
According to Autocar India, Elevate builds on the foundation of Honda City 5th generation. Thanks to this, the new high-ground model will use the same powertrain as the City, with a naturally aspirated 1.5 engine, with a capacity of 121 hp, maximum torque of 145 Nm. It has selectable options of 6-speed manual or CVT. At first, Elevate will apply gasoline engine, then gradually switch to hybrid.
Repeatedly caught on the road by Indian news sites, Elevate has the design of the global SUV line of Honda, inspired by the current BR-V and HR-V. Muscular appearance with many chrome details, slender LED headlights. The interior design is still unrevealed, but the Elevate is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the entertainment system, a digital instrument cluster and comes with Honda’s ADAS safety package, a 360 camera, and wireless phone charging.
Elevate is the new name of Honda’s small urban high-rise car. According to the plan, Elevate will launch globally in India on June 6th and go on sale first in this market in August, after which it will be exported to many other countries.
After its launch, the Honda Elevate will compete with rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Tiguan, Tata Harrier, MG Astor.
